Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Liberty Elementary and Junior High School, home of the Knights. We are located in southern Spokane County, Washington. Our school serves about 440 students in grades TK-8, and our special education program serves students starting at birth.
Our elementary program for grades TK-5 includes homerooms for all TK-5 students. Students have instruction from specialist teachers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Music) and physical education and have opportunities to utilize technology in a variety of ways throughout the day with one-to-one devices. Community-sponsored sports programs and the County Library system offer a variety of extracurricular opportunities for students outside the regular school day.
In addition to a solid core academic program at the junior high, we offer elective classes in art, technology, choir, band, leadership, public speaking, creative writing, applied physics, and literature exploration. A comprehensive school sports program includes cross-country, football, softball, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, and boys' and girls' basketball and track.
We boast an energetic and highly motivated Junior Boosters program run by parents who raise money for our school and "extras" for the students. Special programs include an exemplary Special Education program, Title reading program, and LAP math program run by experienced and knowledgeable staff. Schoolwide events include an Open House and Ice Cream Social in the Fall, a Spring and Family Maple Bar Morning, a Family STEAM night in the spring, and numerous concerts, programs, and assemblies throughout the year.
We are very fortunate to have a great school, be part of a close and caring community, and have wonderful people to work with every day. Our entire staff strives to keep making our school one our community can appreciate with great pride.
